Meet Chef Mukesh Panwar

Namaste. I'm Chef Mukesh Panwar, and for me, cooking has never been just a profession — it's how I express myself.

My journey has taken me across continents and kitchens. After training across multiple countries, I was appointed Indian Cuisine Chef at the Shangri-La Group in Shenyang, China – one of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands. During that time, I promoted Indian cuisine across six Chinese cities and led cooking classes for international guests, introducing thousands of people to the warmth and depth of Indian cooking.

Those years in China gave me something rare: a genuine mastery of Indo-Chinese cuisine, the beautiful conversation between bold Indian spices and delicate Chinese technique. It became one of my great passions, alongside the vibrant world of Indian street food.

After all those travels, I chose Victoria, BC as home. This city’s warmth and diversity inspire me every day. At Curry Shashwat, my goal is simple: food that feels authentic, exciting, and memorable – made with heart.
